Volunteers across Australia are being recognised and celebrated as part of National Volunteer Week.
There are more than 3,000 volunteers who are appointed as members of Crown land manager community boards across New South Wales. These volunteers have an incredibly important role caring for more than 1,500 Crown reserves enjoyed by our communities every day.
Our local halls, nature parks, sporting grounds, showgrounds, campgrounds, historical sites and more function because of our volunteers.
On behalf of the NSW Government, I would like to extend my gratitude to all our volunteers caring for Crown reserves. As an organisation, we will continue to work to identify how we can better support you. This will help ensure NSW Crown lands are enjoyed today and for our future generations.
Thank you.
Melanie Hawyes, Deputy Secretary, Crown Lands
