About the organisation

Reflections Holiday Parks (known as Reflections) operates 37 holiday parks and campgrounds on behalf of the people of New South Wales.

It is a Category One Crown land manager, established in 2013 under the Crown Land Management Act 2016, managing 23,000 acres of holiday parks and reserves on Crown land across regional NSW.

Reflections currently manages an asset value of $400 million. The organisation employs a Chief Executive Officer and more than 450 employees across the State.

Operating on highly valued public land, Reflections is responsible for balancing the unique social, economic, environmental, and cultural character of the portfolio.

The positions

As part of a scheduled board renewal process, the NSW Department of Planning and Environment is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable skilled candidates for consideration for appointment as a board member (3 roles) of the Reflections Holiday Parks Board. The chairperson role will also be selected as part the board renewal process.

The appointment will be for a term of up to five years with eligibility for reappointment. It is anticipated appointed members will commence in quarter one, 2024.

Board members will be expected to attend up to seven board meetings per year as well as undertake roles on the three board sub-committees. Conduct of board members is in accordance with the Crown reserve code of conduct

About you

To be successful in one of these roles, you must demonstrate your:

  • understanding and/or experience of the role and responsibilities of company and/or Government boards and board members
  • strong collaborative decision making and working style.
  • expertise in at least one or more of the following essential areas:
    • Asset Development / Property Management
    • Tourism and commerciality
    • Digital and technology
    • Environment and sustainability
    • Government relations
    • Community stakeholder management
    • Customer focused industries
  • expertise in one or more of the following areas would also be desirable:
    • Governance, audit and risk management
    • Organisational performance
    • Marketing communications
  • strong interest in camping and outdoor adventure

Remuneration

Board members are paid in accordance with the NSW Government Boards and Committees guidelines. The annual remuneration rates are:

  • Chair: $70,000
  • Member: $35,000

Reimbursement of expenses (including out of pocket travelling expenses) is paid in line with NSW Government policy. Travelling time is not remunerated. Please refer to the NSW Government Boards and Committees Guidelines for details. Member remuneration includes superannuation (SGC).
