COVID-19

COVID update face masks picture

14 January 2022 - Alert #12

The NSW Government is increasing restrictions in the community to combat the current wave of COVID-19.

Community members should visit the NSW Government COVID-19 website to keep updated on current rules, testing and isolation requirements, as well as other COVID-19 information resources.

Rules for people at Crown reserves

All visitors to Crown reserves must comply with the NSW Government rules and restrictions. This applies to Crown land managers (CLMs), volunteers, paid workers and all other visitors to reserves.

CLMs should visit the Business Rules in NSW webpage on the NSW Government COVID-19 website to check the requirements specific to their industry. Vaccination for workers apply to some industries and may impact operations on reserves.

Department of Planning and Environment COVID-19 vaccination policy

The Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) has introduced a workplace COVID-19 vaccination policy, consistent with the direction taken across NSW Government agencies. The policy requires all DPE employees, contractors, and volunteers to be fully vaccinated with limited exceptions.

The policy does not apply to CLMs or their employees, contractors and volunteers unless the land manager is department managed. For clarity, individuals appointed to community boards (statutory land managers) or corporate CLMs are not required to comply with the DPE policy unless they are also employees of DPE.

Despite most CLMs not being covered by the department’s vaccination policy, it is recommended that CLMs consider introducing a vaccination policy that is appropriate for the types of reserves under their management, in line with current NSW Government COVID-19 rules.
