Rick Farley Soil Conservation Reserve and MAGIC

The Rick Farley Soil Conservation Reserve was established near Pooncarie in 2007 by the Crown Lands Division, Far West Area, to honour the late Rick Farley, a tireless advocate for farmers, soil conservation, environmental management and reconciliation.

Moonbi Recreation Reserve Hall, Fairholme Telephone Exchange

Situated between Condobolin and Forbes in Central West NSW, on the Lachlan Valley Way, is the Moonbi Recreation Reserve Hall. The hall is nestled on the banks of Island Creek, an anabranch of the Lachlan River, on Crown land.

Show societies gets younger volunteers on board

The Agricultural Societies Council of NSW (ASC) is a key user group of showgrounds located on Crown land. One of the greatest challenges facing volunteer-run committees is recruiting new members, but the ASC is winning over a new generation of volunteers with its Next Generation program.

Cultural heritage and great tucker on the Hill

The Line of Lode precinct is a Crown reserve located in Broken Hill, and includes the iconic Miners’ Memorial complex and a commercially operated business, the Broken Earth Café. It’s a great example of public land being used in tandem with a local business to benefit the local community and tourists.

Bottle Bend Reserve is nature reserve on the Murray River, near the Monak. The picturesque riverine environment offers camping sites, picnic tables and walking tracks.
